Terms of Service

The service

vipe.ai provides a static code analysis tool that scans JavaScript and TypeScript files for common security vulnerabilities, including hardcoded secrets, SQL injection risks, and missing authentication checks, and generates suggested fixes — on the website and in the Vipe editor extension. The service is provided as-is and is intended as a helpful development aid, not a substitute for a professional security audit.

Accounts

You do not need an account to use the web scanner. Your first scan is free; further scans require credits, which are linked to your email address. Rate limiting is applied per IP address to prevent abuse. Vipe Pro and AI fixes in the Vipe editor extension need an account, which you create by signing in with GitHub. You are responsible for the editors you connect to your account, and you can disconnect any of them from your account page at any time. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Your code

You retain full ownership of any code you submit. By submitting code, you grant vipe.ai a temporary, limited licence to process it for the sole purpose of performing the requested analysis. This licence ends when the scan completes and the code is deleted from our servers. The same applies to the snippet your editor sends when you ask for an AI fix. Do not submit code you do not own or do not have the right to share.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use vipe.ai to: • Submit malicious code intended to harm our systems or other users • Circumvent rate limits through automated scraping or abuse • Use the service in any way that violates applicable law We reserve the right to block access to users who violate these terms.

No guarantee of completeness

vipe.ai detects a limited set of vulnerability patterns. We do not guarantee that it will find all, or any, vulnerabilities in your code. A clean scan result does not mean your code is free of security issues. Do not rely solely on vipe.ai as your security review process. Results are generated by automated analysis and AI models and may contain errors, false positives and missed vulnerabilities. Suggested fixes may be incomplete or incorrect; review and test every change before using it in production.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, vipe.ai and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of or reliance on the service, including but not limited to security incidents or breaches that a scan did not detect, vulnerabilities introduced or left in place by a suggested fix, data loss, or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

Vipe Pro subscription

[DRAFT — PENDING LEGAL REVIEW] Billing. Vipe Pro costs $12 (USD) per month, charged in advance each month through Stripe. The subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel. Free AI fixes. A signed-in account without Vipe Pro can use 5 AI fixes. A fix only counts when a usable fix is delivered to you. Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account page (Manage subscription). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for: you keep Vipe Pro until then, and you are not charged again. We do not refund partial months, except where the law requires it. Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a limited period and Vipe Pro stays active while it does. If the payment still fails, the subscription ends. Price changes. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change. It applies from your next billing period after that, and you can cancel before it takes effect. Fair use. Vipe Pro includes AI fixes for normal individual use. We may limit automated or excessive use that goes beyond that, to protect the service. Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the subscription within 14 days of subscribing. To withdraw, email us within that period.

Right of withdrawal

[TEXT PENDING LEGAL REVIEW] Scan credit packs are digital content delivered immediately upon successful payment, and are not supplied on a tangible medium. Under EU and Dutch consumer law, you would ordinarily have a 14-day right of withdrawal ("herroepingsrecht") after an online purchase. By checking the consent box before completing your purchase, you expressly request that we begin delivering your credits immediately, you acknowledge that this delivery begins before the 14-day withdrawal period ends, and you confirm that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once the credits have been delivered to your account. If you have not yet purchased a pack and want to keep your right of withdrawal, do not check the consent box and do not complete the purchase.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of vipe.ai after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules that give you the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, or to apply the law of that country.
